In addition, there are over 1million people in the UK with diagnosed rhythm disorder. Of the 90,000 people who die from cardiac arrest each year, 80% could be rhythm related, which means 72,000 lives could potentially be saved by regular ECG screening.

Description:
The MEDICK MHM 100, THE WORLDS FIRST POCKET PDA SIZE INTELLIGENT DIGITAL PERSONAL ECG is like having a hospital ECG and an appointment with a Cardiac Physician whenever you want, as many as you want, all from the comfort of your own home, outside a clinical setting without the worry and inconvenience of hospital waiting lists for your appointment and the subsequent waiting of up to two weeks for your results.
Endorsed by leading heart specialists including Prof John Camm and Prof Brian Glenville, the MEDICK MHM 100 delivers comprehensive professional and hospital quality ECG heart monitoring to the very highest standards, giving you vital early warning of any heart rhythm abnormality or irregularity at an early stage, so that you can get the appropriate treatment without delay and before its too late.
Taking just a few minutes to set up, the MEDICK MHM 100 screens your heart, checking every heart beat and every rhythm for up to eight hours, whilst you simply go about your daily routine! Something that's impossible to do in a hospital setting.
Beat by heart beat, the MEDICK MHM 100 follows your heart working - monitoring, detecting and identifying a whole series of potential irregularities providing information and giving you a level of control over your heart health, previously unavailable outside the doctors consulting room or hospital.
Says Dr Chris Steele, Medical Advisor to ITV's This Morning 'The MHM 100 is a true breakthrough for managing personal heart health, it has to be product of the year.'
And the MEDICK MHM 100 is so easy and simple to use with a superb step by step illustrated user manual which explains how to set up, use and interpret the results, and details of the dedicated customer support line, contact details as well as a full glossary of terms and definitions.
The MEDICK MHM 100 is a high quality precision EU Approved Class 2A Medical Device, that conforms to European standards covering portable monitoring devices: 93/42/EEC; ANSI/AAMI EC38:1998; EN60601; CE0120.
Designed for home use, the MEDICK MHM 100 is based on cutting edge intelligent neural network technology with a filtering system that mimics the way the human nervous system processes information, so reducing the risk of false readings, which can be created for example by the monitor pads rubbing against clothing during recording.
The monitor is attached to your chest discreetly using 3 disposable colour coded electrode pads and then worn by clipping the handy pouch onto your belt or waistband or by simply slipping it into a pocket leaving you free to get on with your daily routine.
The MEDICK MHM 100 is ideally left on for six to eight hours because the longer the test, the more information is gathered, but even 30 minutes can pick up irregularities or unusual heart rhythms.
Once you start your test, the MEDICK MHM 100 informs you that it is checking for a signal, confirming that the electrodes are positioned correctly. After a minute or so, the test begins displaying your heart traces in real time.
The MEDICK MHM 100 also features a useful Log Button. As the test proceeds, you can click the Log Button to highlight and log up to ten specific moments of activity or symptoms during the test that can then be correlated to specific points on your trace.
So if you felt some momentary dizziness or a palpitation, you simply click the Log Button and when you come to read your trace it can help you check how certain triggers or aspects of your lifestyle or changes to your lifestyle such as smoking a cigarette, drinking alcohol or a stressful event affects your heart.
Once the recording has finished after the 8 hour cycle or at any point in time that you decide to stop, you can view your results either directly from the MEDICK MHM 100 ECG MONITOR, you can transfer your ECG trace to your computer using the software provided, load the information onto your PC to save all your tests and view or forward the test on to your dedicated MEDICK Cardiology Team via a secure website link who will do a full expert analysis of the test results and submit a report within 24 hours.
You can decide just how many ECG Expert Reports you want to receive each year. You could do your own regular monitoring as often as you want. But periodically once, twice, four times, six times a year or more depending on your heart health or when your MEDICK MHM 100 does signal up irregularities, you could get a full ECG Expert Report for a full professional evaluation.
When the ECG testing is complete, you can read off your results directly from your MEDICK MHM 100 ECG MONITOR. From the Report Menu, the monitor displays a summary of results on six screens that you can scroll through.
The first screen displays test duration and signal quality.
The second screen displays mean, maximum and minimum heart rate during the test
The third screen displays the Tachycardia and Bradycardia Summary, that tells you how many times your heart was beating faster or slower than usual.
The fourth screen displays the Rythym Summary, that tells you how many times you experience Wide Complex Tachycardia, ST Segment Depression and Atrial Fibrillation.
The fifth screen displays the Ectopic Beat Summary, that tells you how many times you experience Atrial and Ventricular missed or multifocal ventricular ecectpic beats and also how many pauses, arrests or missed beats were detected.
In addition you can also view your heart rate trend with your Log Lines that show up as a black line appearing at that part of the trace, a graph of your heart rate over the test period and even a sample trace that shows a sample of what your ECG trace looked like at 3 minutes after the start of the test.
Apart from reading off your results from your MEDICK MHM 100 ECG MONITOR, you can also download the data to your PC to view, file the results away and print as you would any document on your computer.
Your PC will display four sub headings for each individual test.
Click on the first Sub Heading to show a summary of your ECG results Heart Rate, Ectopic Beats, Heart Rhythm Irregularities and Asystole Summary.
The second Sub Heading displays a graph of your heart rate over the test duration, including mean, maximum and minimum heart rate. The graph also indicates when the log button has been pressed.
The third Sub Heading displays Sample trace signal at 3 minutes from the
start of the test.
The fourth Sub Heading displays your Log Button record. There can be a maximum of 10 Log Button pages one for each of the first nine times it was pressed and the last one. A thick black line appears above the heart rate at the time the button was pressed.
And if you choose to get a full MEDICK Expert Report, you simply forward your results to the MEDICK Personal Heart Reporting Service, where your ECG results are analysed and reviewed by skilled cardiac physicians trained in interpreting and reading ECG's.
Each person is sent a personal easy to understand Overview Report that summarises your heart condition and advises the right course of action within just 24 hours of you sending your trace!
