Suitable for both tropical destinations that carry risks of malaria, dengue and yellow fever as well as all European destinations.

The active constituent DEET, is the abbreviation for N N Diethyl m Toluamide now more commonly known as N,N Diethyl 3 Methylbenzamide is effective against malaria mosquitoes and gadflies, ticks and bloodsuckers and reasonably effective against large horseflies, nits and midges.

Description:

When applied to the exposed skin, CARE PLUS DEET INSECT REPELLENT GEL 30% makes your skin offensive for biting insects. The smell of DEET is highly unpleasant for the insect yet neither noticeable nor harmful for humans.

The smell of DEET will distort the sensors of the insect, resulting in the insect hunting for another victim. For the best result, the repellent has to be applied sparingly and evenly on the exposed skin. The efficacy of the repellent is determined by the active ingredient whilst the percentage of DEET determines how long the insect repellent remains active on the skin. The lower the concentration, the more often you will have to re-apply.

CARE PLUS DEET is available as 50% DEET Lotion, 40% DEET Spray and 30% DEET Gel. An insect repellent with a DEET percentage of less than 30% is not effective enough and a percentage above 50% has no added value.

Use of products containing DEET on children:

As a precaution, it is advisable to avoid using concentrations of more than 30% DEET on children under 2 years of age.
Do not rub onto children's hands, to prevent DEET coming into contact with the mouth or eyes.

Use of products containing DEET during pregnancy:

Recent research has shown that DEET can be used safely during the last six months of pregnancy.
During the first three months, DEET can be used in concentrations up to 30%. As a precaution, use should be kept to a minimum.
